On 8 and 9 February, Protection UNIT officers provided security for the ‘Wallonie Climate Chance Europe 2024 Summit’ organised by Wallonia and the Climate Chance Association as part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This major event, focusing on adaptation, took place at the Palais des Congrès in Liège and brought together more than 800 non-state actors, local and European representatives of civil society and institutions.
The Protection UNIT security guards, responsible for the overall security of the site, played a vital role during the two-day event, contributing to its success. Their deterrent presence and rigour greatly contributed to creating a safe and secure environment for all participants, as well as an atmosphere conducive to collaboration and the exchange of ideas. All the players present were able to take full advantage of the opportunity to share their perspectives and solutions to the urgent challenges of climate change.
