The solution for sensitive, large and/or isolated sites

The human–animal partnership ensures a highly deterrent and preventive security mission. At Protection UNIT, the dog handler works in perfect harmony with his dog, which is specifically trained for surveillance, support, and the protection of property and people. Thanks to its highly developed senses, the dog can, for example, locate concealed individuals (in open areas, isolated sites, etc.). In addition to its deterrent effect, the dog also enhances the safety of the handler.

In the airport sector, and more specifically in cargo screening, European regulations have for several years validated and approved three screening solutions. Our Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD) solution is one of them. EDD dogs are also a major asset in a security strategy focused on prevention.

We also offer a complementary solution for the detection of illicit substances: our Narcotics Detection Dogs (NDD) solution.

Certified annually by the federal police, our DOGS UNIT canine division (composed of around fifty dogs) trains every day to deliver unique results in Belgium and Luxembourg.

THE BENEFITS OF OUR DOGS UNIT SOLUTION

Fast response times, crisis management, strong deterrent effect… The benefits of having our dog handlers are numerous, and their effectiveness is proven. This solution also makes it possible to reduce the number of agents required on site, resulting in significant cost savings.

The visible bond between the dog and its handler makes our presence even more reassuring for you, and above all, for everyone present at the location of our intervention.

OUR ASSIGNMENTS

I K9 (DOG HANDLERS)

In certain specific security and protection missions, the presence of a dog is a real asset. The dog handler – or canine officer – is a security guard specifically trained together with his dog.

The canine security officer provides all types of surveillance, guarding, and security services. In specific environments such as open areas or parking facilities, the dog can detect suspicious behaviour more quickly or have a strong deterrent effect.

The dog handler works with discipline, control, and efficiency. He is an essential link in the company’s performance system.

The canine security officer and his dog operate within a strictly regulated legal framework. Trained in the specific aspects of the profession, the officer prevents and anticipates any risk of malicious activity:

  • Opening and closing patrols

  • Inspection patrols

  • Deterrence patrols

  • Alarm response

  • Escort services

  • Dedicated patrols

Ideal for:

  • Preventing squatting in vacant buildings

  • Monitoring construction sites, industrial zones, various buildings or warehouses

  • Securing isolated sites or locations with limited visibility

  • Monitoring trucks and/or equipment in motorway service areas

  • Providing deterrence and security during major events or gatherings

  • Supervising operations

I EDD (EXPLOSIVE DETECTION DOGS)

Protection Unit has a canine section consisting of security guards and certified dogs trained to detect explosive substances. These dogs are trained every day and can be a very effective solution.

This service is particularly appropriate for air freight security. Our guards accompanied by their dogs can screen a large quantity of luggage, packages or containers, on the move.

Our teams are also used to secure a site (event, stadium, performance venue, etc.) before the site is opened to the public. This is to ensure that your site is safe.

I NDD (NARCOTICS DETECTION DOGS)

In a context where the presence of narcotics represents a growing risk to the safety and reputation of organisations, Protection UNIT offers a specialised canine detection service.

Our detection dog Lucie and her certified handler form an operational team capable of quickly and discreetly identifying any presence of illicit substances.

This service helps to:

  • Prevent risks linked to the circulation or use of narcotics

  • Strengthen the safety of employees, visitors, and assets

  • Deter risky behaviour through a visible and professional presence

  • Carry out targeted interventions without disrupting site operations

Lucie is trained to detect a wide range of narcotics, including amphetamines, ecstasy, heroin, cocaine, and cannabis.

Our dog-handler duo is ready to carry out drug detection missions adapted to all types of environments: companies, logistics sites, events, schools, or sensitive facilities.
